Replacement for Garmin nuvi 255W?

i have a Garmin nuvi 255W. I want to upgrade it to a GPS that doesn't have a charge for street map updates. Since Garmin is trying to rip me off for ninety dollars for one map update, I have no specific loyalty to Garmin. Any ideas?

Gotta travel on ... with my nuvi 2450LM.

$90?

If you're finding only $90 One-Time updates, you're not looking too hard. Under $45 for a One-Time and under $80 for lifetime updates is very easy to buy these days.

But if you're looking today, Yugster has the nuvi 1450LMT with lifetime maps and traffic on sale for $165 shipped -- today only! See my post today at:

And you can pass that 255W

And you can pass that 255W on to me, gratis.

Don't Be Ripped Off for LMU's

Amazon has good prices on Lifetime Map Updates. Prices seem to vary from day to day-ish. Check regularly and pull the trigger when you feel the price is right. The 255W is a great unit, so it might be a value for you to stick with it and get a discounted Lifetime Map.

Note too that unless there is a lot of new construction where you travel, map updates may not be necessary any time soon. Not much going on in my area (So Cal) so map updates are more or less moot. And POI's in the updates are years behind, and pretty pointless.

And free maps are out there too:
