Like meteor craters?

Yes, sorry!

How would we write a FAQ on taking an image and making it into a .bmp Icon.

According to ghayman, size should be no bigger than 24 x 24 pixels and it is best to use 256 RGB color palette with standard web safe colors

I found a crater at

I used Irfanview to crop the picture to a square format. Then I used Faststone Photo Resizer to change to a 24 by 24 pixel bmp.

The result looked OK but I haven't tried it out.

How would someone else have done this?

1. Do a google image search for meteor crater.
2. Save a colorful, high contrast image to computer.
3. Open it with mspaint.
4. Under "Image" menu, use "Attributes' to discover its current size.
5. Using "Stretch/Skew", enter percentages to reduce the image to 24x24 pixels.
6. Save modified image as "Crater" as a 256 Color Bitmap image.

I like my Garmin nuvi 255w so much that I just bought one for my 78 year old mother (for her birthday)! I'm getting it all setup before giving it to her, so everyone's helpful tips are so appreciatd!!!
