Breaking up the Post Office POI file

Anyone know a good way to make the post office POI file a little smaller? The Magellan 2200T (my first GPS so excuse my newbiness) has a limit on number of POI's per category and a limit on over all number of POIs. That file exceeds both of thos limits. Any thoughts on how to break it up... say by state... would be appreciated.

POI Verifier will pull what ever state you need one at a time and it's as simple to run as anything.
