yonkers red light cameras

Please be advised that the City of Yonkers has
a Red Light Camera System. They already have some in place and will continue to install Red Light Camera Systems throughout the City. (the latest one about to go up is Central Pk ave and Fort hill near Oakley's car
wash). The one’s in RED were installed in places most frequently traveled by some of you… Take note and remember.

We have all become accustomed to making a "(rolling) right on red". The word to the wise is beware that the letter of the law states that you can make a "right on red after a FULL stop". This is being enforced and you
will get a $50 ticket for making a legitimate right on red if you don't come to a full stop first. 2 still snapshots are taken and are backed by a full stream video as evidence.

Right on red

In Nassau County we have had red light cameras for about two years. Right on red makes up most of the revenue! The full stop must be made before the stop line prior to turning.

Your cameras are full motion video, like ours. They mail you two still pictures with the summons, and also include a link to a website to see the video of your car.

Did Yonkers publish a list of locations?

I think they are listed in

I think they are listed in the red light file.

No turn camera?

Hey, I was driving on McClean ave and realized I was going the wrong direction. I made a u-turn and go the other way. Apparently at the next light mclean goes from two way to one way. There is a right turn only and a straight only lane. I realized late and went right from the straight only lane and saw some big flashes.

On my way home I saw the cameras set up there. How much is the fine for this violation?

The camera is only for going through a red light

No matter what violation the camera sees, the only summons they can send you would be for going through a red light. The State Legislature authorized a limited number of cameras for red light use only (including right-on-red).

Thanks, will update this in

Thanks, will update this in the future if I get a ticket or not.

"The State Legislature authorized a limited number of cameras"

Of course once the legislature finds out this is a great way to fine (I mean tax people) the word "limited" will disapear. Of course it is done in the name of safety. wink
