Cover for 3790T

I noticed the iphone4 is a little smaller. I may order some of those cheap "bumpers" on ebay and see if I can modify them.

I have a 3760 to which I added a screen protector. I cannot tell any difference in the touch screen performance.

Wouldn't a "skin" or bumpers keep it from fitting in the car mount?

That is a good point. Across the center back and edges it cannot have any material, that would just leave the front. I will have to check the mount again. I don't want to get carried away and ruin the looks of the thing, that is part of the appeal.

I do not know how much to worry, I will never carry it around anyway.

I used the voice control for the first time today and thought it was very good. My 10 year old had a lot of fun changing the volume etc, and I have a very noisy car. I also have a manual shift and voice command is definitely safer than some of the antics that I perform with my eyes glued to the gps.

I tend to stick mine in a pocket when I leave the car so I bought one of the leather cases. It fits the unit perfectly and offers a bit of protection.

I chose not to get a voice activated unit as I usually have someone in the car and we talk a lot! And, I got one of those deals too good to pass up!

You're appreciation for the 3790 is going to keep growing!

Before buying from ebay you should check out Monoprice. Their main business is electronic cables but they also offer gps accessories.

I just bought another 3790t for $70 without any accessories. I may try out the GTM 25 to see if that works. I know that was a discussion in another forum.

Store demo with a warranty, but no accessories. So I have to buy the cord etc which will add up, but still a good deal. We will see how good a deal in a couple days.

I needed a case that would protect my 3790t from scratches and from getting squashed in my book bag. We have a winner. The case is a little large but still fits snug in my jeans back pocket if needed. The feel of the case is medium to hard plastic. There is one zipper going around the case which opens the case in a type of fold. The interior of the case has a soft material to help protect the unit of course. The nuvi fits securely in the case by two elastic bands and a material flap. When you fold the flap over there is a storage compartment for sd cards that can fit in any of the three plastic slots and a net material to hold anything else. Above all it works for me.

Looks good, and looks like it will provide good protection.

I think I may try to make a cover that will stay on the device the whole time. Although it is beautiful I have to protect against clumsiness and "life".

I just received the GTM 25 ( GTM25 ) from ebay ($31) and it seems to work fine with the 3790T. That may be good news for people with the 3750 who want traffic on the cheap!

Yes, ideed. I bought my GTM 20 power/traffic item on eBay as well--at a tiny fraction of buying one new. Once subscribed to ClearChannel traffic, it works perfectly with my 750 and 855.

So far I bought a Black Silicone Skin Case Cover for HTC Thunderbolt 6400 for $3 on ebay. I trimmed away the back in the center and a couple other places and have a silicone "bumper" around the edge and back of my unit. It does not slip out of my hand or off of my desk. If it does perhaps the cushioning around the edges will save it.

The fit is not perfect, little loose, but the Garmin bracket keeps it in place.

I have another bumper for an iphone 4G that I am going to try next.

Myself and others in my family have used the screen protectors on several type of products such as phones and media players with very good results. Don't see why a GPS would be any different. If you don't like them you can just peel it off and you've only lost around $10

The screen protector worked fine.

The modified Black Silicone Skin Case Cover for HTC Thunderbolt 6400 works pretty well, the iphone cover was a no go.
