webupdate vs.mydasboard

I have garmin 1490t, i check for updates few times a month,like to use webupdate cause it tells what i'm downloading.Yesterday webupdates showed no new updates,mydashboard showed there was a new update,but I could not tell what it was for.Thanks for any help.nimrag1
You're doing well
You're doing well in choosing Webupdater rather than mydashboard for a majority of your GPS updating since Webupdater both tells you what's being done and and gives you the choice to select or not select each item.
The "update" being offered by mydashboard could be as minor as a new vehicle icon or unneeded voice or text issue for a language that you'll never use.

The only thing for which I prefer mydashboard to webupdate is Map updates on my lifetime subscription.
If the e-mail notification ever becomes reliable (I believe the one I got for the most recent release is the first ever for me) then I'd not find the need to go to mydashboard for information (as distinct from actually getting the map) ever.
