Entering Coordinates

I have been trying to enter coordinates into my 660 without any success. The Owner's Manual leaves a little to be desired. I cannot get it to work as the Manual spells it out. Can someone tell me in simple terms what I am doing wrong? I can't get the decimal point to come up. It must be something simple that I can't see.
format
You may need to set the format to ddd.ddddd by going to Where to > Coordinates > format. (There are other choices as well, but ddd.ddddd is what we use inside POI files.)
