I am trying to create my own custom icons without the white square background seen on most icons. The best way I can figure to do this is to set the background color of my icon to the same color as that of the major color of the map on my Garmin GPS, rendering the background "transparent." Does anyone know the exact color of the map background for a Garmin? Or, does anyone have a better way of creating an icon without a visible background? Thanks

Transparent background

You have to construct the icon using layers, ideally. The first layer would be magenta (255,0,255), then the bmp itself.

Save it as 'indexed', 8 bits, and as a .bmp.
