Florida Senator to File Bill to Repeal Red Light Camera's..!!

It looks like even a Florida Senator doesn't like Red Light Camera's. He's looking to get rid of all of them throughout the state.

Family

I wonder if one of his family members got a ticket. That is usually the only darn time a politician cares about anything, when it effects he or she personally.

I generally don't trust them.

Your probably right

I agree!

There has been much

There has been much controversy in the state of Florida over red light cameras. The city of Lakeland installed them, saying first they were all about safety. Now after a couple of years they are talking about moving a few cause they are not generating enough tickets to support their cost.

What a bunch of crap from the city officials. Yea, they are about safety and not revenue.

Exactly

If it was about safety, wouldn't they keep the cameras, even if they didn't generate a dime?

That's exactly the point.

That's exactly the point. It's generating a lot of negative discussion at the city commission meetings. This is after the big (turn right on red) controversy with the red light cameras. They eventually voted to refund a bunch of those tickets after people complained that some of the intersections required people to pull over the stop line to safely turn right on red, but the cameras would still fire and ticket.

On a side note, Haines City which is northwest of Lakeland has also installed and is now generating tickets from their red light cameras as well.
