Hilton Hotels Project

This sounds like an interesting project but I'm curious who would use this POI. Are there people out there who travel the country only staying in Hilton Hotels?

Also, wouldn't most GPS units already have Hilton Hotel locations already listed under hotels?

Yes there are.

No, not necessarily. Plus there are a lot of benefits to using Custom POIs.

Also I corrected coorcinates on 22 locations to improve accuracy.

Also I've corrected a total of about 55 locations via google earth.

Bob & I are digging thru about 80 more and then we'll be as complete and accurate as we can possibly make it without physically visiting each location and with 2500+ there's no way that's likely to happen.

I just finished correcting all the Hilton locations. I forwarded 1 location to Summermug(Bob) that I just couldn't get any good location for, Otherwise the file is complete with 2567 locations. I have a BMP file to send off to MissPOI to include as well.

I am in the process of reviewing all Hilton property files (Hampton Inn, Embassy Suites, etc.), and may need help geocoding new locations (my guesstimate is that there a few hundred missing locations). Of course, once the individual brand files are updated, I would like to then combine them and update the "big" Hilton file, as well.

That would be great . . .being a Hilton guest of extreme frequency, I can vouch that many locations are missing or are now wrong. Any that are new that I run across or stay at, I can get exact locations, if helpful.

I wonder too, if my connections at the Diamond Desk may be able to provide a list of newest locations for all HH brands. If I find out anything, I will contact you via message here.

There is a hampton under construction here and a sign that an Embassy suite is coming). I will send you coordinates when they open.

This project started 5/1/2007 and has not been updated.
The maintainer is "P38nut" and has not been updated. The last addition to this post was 3/21/2010 by where "dconsolla" was updating the file. Then a post from today (1 year later).

Miss Poi is not accepting updates to POI files that seem to be abandoned. The maintainer needs to be contacted to see if he/she will give it up.

All of P38nut's files are old so I suspect he has left us, nevertheless, the right thing to do is try and contact the maintainer. It would be nice if the files like this are updated.

FYI - with hundreds of additions (and deletions), the Hampton Inn file is finally updated. I am the new maintainer, and would be happy to collaborate on an overall Hilton family file.

Thank you for taking this on. Hampton is one of my favorite spots to stay on pleasure trips while traveling with the family.

Hampton is also my favorite so having a good file is much appreciated.

Hi, Recently downloaded the newest Hilton POI. The coords for the Hilton Garden Inn in Lexington/Georgetown, KY are wrong. Here's what's listed in your POI:
-84.5592 38.2218 Hilton Garden Inn Lexington/Georgetown, 110 Grandstand Drive, Georgetown, KY 40324 1-502-863-0099.
It's correct except for the coordinates. The correct coordinates are: -84.322646 38.133245. The ooords in the POI took me a couple of miles off track.
