UK T-Mobile cuts mobile data usage in half, coming to the US?

Unlikely

This is a very interesting article, thank you for sharing. I am quite surprised the T-Mo spokesperson states UK users us less than 500 mbs on average... I think I read somewhere that a majority of iPhone/Android users eat over 500mbs in the US. This could be fact that even though the US had been a laggard for years in cell phone advancements, once 2008 came around, the world has not nearly caught up to the US in smartphone purchases.

While it is always possible we see data allotments cut in the US, I see it would be very unlikely, especially for T-Mo USA who is doing everything possible to compete data-wise with the ATT/VZ/Sprint. T-Mo is currently focused on supplying unlimited data to it's customers as a way to get subscribers. What is more possible in the US is data throttling, where the heaviest users will see slower data speeds from time-to-time. However, because T-Mo USA has plenty of bandwidth for it's fewer customers right now, that is unlikely as well, at least for some time.
