Renaming File Names to include prox alert

Reference: RestAreasCombined(Ver.AD).csv

If I wanted to include a two mile proximity alert for all rest areas, how should I rename the above file?

Thanks,
Russ

If it were me

I would load the Rest Areas file with POI Loader in the manual mode and set the distance to whatever you prefer. Personally, I use just over a mile (5555 feet which is easy to type). You only have to input the distance once which covers the whole 2000 + entries.

Of course, I may be prejudiced since I am the maintainer of the file !!!!!

Rest Areas Alert

I use POI Loader to load my POI's with alerts. In this case, I just name it "rest_areas.csv" and then when I set up the alert I enter 10000 ft, for approx two miles. Just make sure the audio alert is spelled exactly the same way and in the same directory as the .csv file - ie "rest_areas.wav".

Thanks... I don't remember a

Thanks... I don't remember a manual mode option with the Garmin POI loader... I will give a try tonight.

As others have indicated, the proximity alert comes about by using a distance in manual mode of POILoader.

That said, some people like to add something like "D5555" to the file name to tell them what distance to use when that file name appears in the file box of POILoader manual mode.
