Loading pois + directory easy question

I have a C330 have not yet tried to load any pois in. Do the cvx files (once all put in computers same directory to ready for loading) have a heading/directory built in so they show up in the "custom pois" as different directories on my garmin...such as restaurants/red lights/speedtraps and so forth Cam

Use Subfolders for .csv files

Using the latest POI Loader, 2.4.1, you can easily setup the subcategories. In a single folder (this will be called Custom POIs), you can place individual POIs and also folders. On your GPSr, you will see the individual POIs loaded in this file and the names of the Folders. When you select the name of a folder, you will then see any POIs that you stored in those folders. This only works one deep.
When you load from POI Loader, you select the high level folder as the location.

Got ya I think...so most of

Got ya I think...so most of the directory stuff is done on your computer...storing the different poi files/and organizing them into folders in one directory. Then using the poi loader, you point to this folder on your hard drive (custom pois) with all you cvx files in there.....this is all uploaded to the gps and will show up as "custom pois"...hence once in there you will see all subdirectories to choose from...right? I am using a mac so I will get the beta prgrm from garmin.

I just wondering that when I download a cvx file it might slso have a header embedded in it..so it shows up on the gps directory ...say such as "wendys restaurants" It seems that I do this part on computer first....Thanx Cam

You've basically got it

Most of what you said is correct. They are .csv, not .cvx files. Also, there is nothing embedded in the file, the name of the file becomes the descripiton. All of your control is done on the PC. If you rename the file on your PC, that will be the title that the GPS provides.
My experience is with the PC. They currently have MAC versions in beta. I believe they work similarly.
