I have a Nuvi 205 that is getting an Access Denied error when I try and download the newest firmware. I went on the website and my Nuvi is registered so that's not the issue. I'm also using Windows 7 and am running the updater as an administrator. I've checked off the tickmarks as run as administrator and still no luck. I've had this nuvi for a couple of years now and had no problems updating it earlier. Does anyone have any ideas on what's going on and if so is there a solution? Thanks.
Any more?
Is there any more to the error message than those two words?
You could also check for permissions:

Problem bypass
Well, this will not solve the permissions issue, but will let you do the upgrade. The firmware version you want to download is 7.10. Take a look at one of these links which best fits your Nuvi model:
http://www8.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=4695
http://www8.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=4697
Right-click anywhere on the page, and when a menu opens, left click on 'view source'. Now you will see (in green) text which will point to a *.gcd file which you can download manually (gcd files are Nuvi's firmware files) and instructions on how to continue upgrading.
Make sure you download the correct firmware for your model; you don't want to end up with a dead 205, right? If you're unsure about any of your model's details, you can find them all inside the x:\Garmin\GarminDevice.xml file on the Nuvi's main drive
Backup
Before doing anything else, do a backup.
