Use a Garmin 650 as a backup monitor

 

anyone know how to get video into a garmin 650 I would like to use it as a backup monitor also as well as GPS.

I think you can use the 660 like that.

Probably ended up costing more than a dedicated monitor to implement. Nice thought.

There are a few Garmin models that will work with a backup camera. Mostly the ones with super large screens designed for RVs and trucks.

The SP 7200/7500 (I think) and the nuvi 5000.

Garmin used to sell a "vehicle integration box" which allowed you to hook up a backup camera to certain nuvi models. Unfortunately the VIB has been discontinued.

Not sure on 6xx...

Don't know of an easy way to do this on a 6xx class device (but would be happy to be shown the error of my ways).

The VIB 10/11 (vehicle integration box) support the C550, 7xx, and 8xx devices.

From the info available, it looks like only the 8xx devices supported back up cameras using the VIB. (Google gets through the Garmin website better than Garmin's own search functions!)
