Phoenix Speed Cameras

I came into Phoenix eastbound on I10 about two weeks ago and noticed a couple of speed cameras that I did not get an alert......
Have they discontinued some of these cameras?
There was some construction in the area but that never stopped them before.

I10 Speed Cameras

Yes, they discontinued the speed cameras back in I think it was September or October.

Gone from Highways

Arizona pulled down all the stationary cameras and ended the photo snapping van program too. You can't get too cocky though, the highway patrol is still popping people with radar (vehicle mounted) and individual cities are loaded with speed and red light cameras along with patrol vehicle radar.

Keeping the red light/speed camera POI updated along with a good radar detector can help keep you out of trouble if your right foot tends to get a little heavy.

Cheers wink

Speed Cameras

So far Florida has not deployed Speed Cameras. However, with the Holidays coming they are stepping up radar enforcement on the Interstates with Wolf packs (made up primarily of FHP and County Units). Watch the Overpasses - they will station a Trooper with a Radar Gun and the units will be further down the road (both ways) to stop offenders.

Disappointed!

I am disappointed AZ decided to discontinue the speed cameras. Last winter it was at least civilized to drive through the city on the interstate. I will have to see how it is now.........

Still Some Cameras That Haven't Been Removed

I think there are a few cameras (not in use) that haven't been removed/dismantled. I thought they were "all" supposed to be removed by now though.

I saw the cameras and did not get an alert. That's what made me ask the question here.
Looks like they will be coming down.

Not all...

Not all the cameras are being removed, just the state-sanctioned highway cameras. The ones operated by individual towns are still running.
