poi being visible on gps screen

Hello all. This is my first post and am lost on this item. Most of the time I use my 2820 on my motorcycle. My problem is I have loaded Honda Dealer locations in my 2820 and there is an icon at each location. I have also loaded all of the DQ locations but there is no icon on the screen at the location.

What do I need to do to make an icon show up at the DQ locations.?

Thanks for the help.

Welcome

I have been lost on lots of things that this site has cleared up for me, so join the club.

Since you see the Honda Dealers, I assume that you have a POI file and a Honda Icon file that both have he exact same name before the "extension" (in this case, say, the .csv and the .bmp).

Check again on the DQ names and make sure they are the same.

like he said....

It's important that all the files associated with a POI are IDENTICAL or they won't work (Identical except for the extension (the .XXX )

So for example:
Dairy_Queen.csv
Dairy_Queen.bmp
Dairy_Queen.mp3
should work....but
Dairy_queen.bmp
Dairy_Queen.csv
WILL NOT (Capitalization, underlines, spaces, etc MUST be the same)

Good luck

For the icons to show

Do you have to set a proximity alert, or do they show automatically?
Does the zoom level make a difference?

Zoom level

The zoom level does make a difference, however the setting should affect all custom POI icons, not just some. In other words, depending on the zoom level, either ALL custom POI icons would appear, or NO custom POIs should appear. If only SOME custom POI icons appear, then there is probably a mismatch between the icon file name and the POI data file name (as mentioned by earlier posters).

THANK YOU

For the clarification.
