New Firmware for Nuvi 13xx and 14XX

Garmin has released firmware update 4.70 for the Nuvi 13xx and 14xx models. It is available via Webupdater (and my Dashboard probably but I don't use it so can't confirm). The change log reads:

Changes made from version 4.60 to 4.70:
* Added support for GTM26/GTM36 accessory.
* Corrected an issue that sometimes made an ad unreadable.
* Corrected an issue with Loc8 Zone B.
* Corrected an issue where Convenience stores would show under Fuel category on Europe 2011 maps.

Update was quick & painless.
Update was quick & painless for my 1350. Reboot & 2 minutes later, voila, it worked in the new version.

The same update is available for 12xx units too.

I'm glad to hear.. I have holded off from updating because wasn't sure of the outcome. The corrections really do not matter to me to have problems ie. erased favorites from running the update.

Thanks for the update. I just bought Nuvi 1490 last Friday, it came with firmware 4.50. There was one more firmware upgrade available so did that. Now I will do this new 4.70 as well.

Hi, can you send me please the file GUPDATE.GCD from your device? My update procedure was broken and after restart remains with Garmin logo on the screen...

If you have ever taken a harddisk backup of your Nuvi, copy the file from x:\Garmin\GarminDevice.xml to a USB disk-on-key, and run Webupdater. The Updater will treat any USB device which contains a GarminDevice.xml file as a Nuvi GPS and will download the latest gupdate.gcd
