Installing map product from GPS unit to mapsource

Colleagues,

I've searched the forum for the answer to no avail.

I have a new 3760T with the CN North America 2011.20 loaded.

Is there a way I can install this map onto either Mapsource or Basecamp?

I have the unlock code, but neither program is recognizing them.

Thoughts?

Sorry

Sorry but no can do at least for Mapsource.

However, if you are entitled to a free map update or if you buy a OneTime or Lifetime numaps update, you can update your GPS as well as install the new map to your computer to be used with Mapsource. I have a feeling, though, that your unit won't fall into the free update window if it came with 2011.20 loaded. Did your GPS come with 2011.20 or did it come with 2011.10 and you updated it? If you updated, go back and do the download again clicking the "Install Options" button and choose "Install to computer."

I've not used Basecamp, but I thought someone said here a while ago that Basecamp reads and uses the map from your GPS. With your GPS connected to the PC, does Basecamp see and use the map on your GPS? Maybe we need Motorcycle Mama to explain this.

If the above fails

Final option would is to call Garmin and ask them to send you a DVD. There probably will be a ~small charge but well worth it in my opinion.

Donwload your update again

Your latest map update should be downloadable for a year. Log into your Garmin account, plug in your unit and download and install your mapset again. Only thins time make sure you select the GPS and Computer option.

.

Yep.

BaseCamp will read the maps from the GPS unit for viewing. (You can't print them from BaseCamp. It's one of the limitations.)

MapSource cannot read the maps at all from the GPS unit.

But as noted above, if you have a map update, then just run that file (or re-run the update process) and select "ADVANCED" and select the option to update the maps on the computer.
