nuvi 13xx and 14xx version 4.50 lock ups

Is anyone else experiencing screen freezes with nuvi 13xx and 14xx units?

A few days ago I "upgraded" my 1490T from 4.40 to 4.50. Today while atempting to navigate a 45 mile route it locked up about a dozen times. On the way home I did not use it in navigation mode and it still locked up so I just shut it down.

After getting home I performed a master reset (turn it on while pressing in lower right corner). I also reinstalled 4.50 via web updater and hope that this will help, but lack any confidence that it will.

Does anyone know where to download version 4.40? At onetime someone was maintaining an archive of old firmware. For me, 4.40 did lock up occasionally, but not as badly as 4.50 is doing.

Or, maybe there is another problem with my nuvi.

Do a hard reset again, but this time don't reflash the FW. Some units need a reset to insure they function properly.

Back up your faves first!

Updated mine...

I updated mine and haven't experienced any lockups....of course I haven't gone anywhere....but I have been doing lots of searching, adding poi's, favorites, etc....

To get 440

Start webupdater there is a link on it click on the link which wll tell you what has changed do a view source on the page and read it copy link and replace 450 with 440 down load the file

Drag the file onto webupdater shortcut and it will instal that file

I upgraded mine and I think it has improved. I also defragged the flash drive too. Guess I am lucky...

No problems. At one point, before I deleted excess files, it was down to 40MB. I now have about 268MB of free space. This is after installing a lot of Custom POIs.

I always do a master reset after a software/map update, and did so after this update. I made a back up of my favorites first.

Don't know how much free space you have, but I've read where increasing free space has fixed problems like freezing up.

If you need it, here's a post that discusses what files can be deleted.

Lockups

I had that problem with my first 1490T which I purchased from Costco. I had to return it and have them replace it. Since then, there seems to be no problem.

I don't have any problems

I don't have any lock up problems with the software version 4.5 on my 1350T (Map version 2011.20)

Refresh Screen lag

I installed the latest version 4.5 and have noticed a 6 seconds delay in navigation. This lag occurs with a route.
Example: While driving on a route, Nuvi shows a pink line. Sometimes this is not a complete line. It takes 6 seconds to draw a complete pink line on the route. It looks like the "refreshes" screen is lag.
Other than that, the nuvi works fine.
