Copy MP3's from site to my c: drive issues

I'm trying to copy the mp3 files for the rest stops to my computer, so I then can put them in my pois file as an alert. The issues is, when I click on the mp3... it will play or let me load it to a playlist but I can not save the file. Any ideas?

right click on the file

right click on the file and then select "save link as" and then set the file directory to store the mp3 file

I have done that but it just

I have done that but it just transfers as a shortcut to a web-site link to the MP3. When I click on the jpeg files, it goes to a Open or Save just like .csv files. So I can click and hear the MP3 but only from my computer while connected to the internet.

You must Be Signed In

You may not be going to the right screen.

I'll use the Rest Area POI Combined file as an example. If you select this POI you will be taken to the page for it. Now scroll to the bottom of the page you'll see a number of items listed there for 'sounds'. If you right click there and save link as, it will be to a webpage link. BUT IF YOU LEFT CLICK ANY OF THE SOUND ENTRIES LISTED you will go to the next screen which will list the ACTUAL MP3 FILE.

When you see the MP3 file listing, RIGHT click on that entry and SAVE LINK AS. That will save the MP3 file to the location you specify.

If your already on that second screen and are hearing the MP3 file play, then your LEFT clicking on the MP3 file and not RIGHT clicking which you must do to save it.

I may be totally wrong

But I don't think "Save Link as" is the right option to choose, is it?

If there is a "save target as" I think that is what you want.

I THINK the "save link as" will only save a link to the original file location and NOT copy the actual file.

Browser

Did you try a different browser? If you are using IE, download and install Google Chrome .. everything works good in Chrome smile

Depends on the browser.

"Save Link As ..." will save the file.
