765T - Clear Recently Typed w/o Master Reset?

When you search for a POI by spelling it, it caches in the last recently typed places (yellow folder on the left). Is there a way to clear this list without doing a master resest? There seems to be a way to clear everything else but this (recently found, trip log, max. speed, etc.).

You can download a manual by going to http://www8.garmin.com/support/userManual.jsp

See page 10 of the manual which says that you would use the following sequence:
Where To? > Recently Found > Clear > Yes

I'm familiar with that but

I'm familiar with that but that wasn't what I was asking actually. I'm talking about the drop down list you get when you SPELL for a POI. The drop down recalls the last few spelled out words. (I shouldn't have put recently found as that's another feature.) Just the cached in spelled words when looking up a POI.

Thanks.

Thanks.

You said what you meant - even gave me the clue of the yellow folder on the left. I just did not hoist it in.

So, I see what you mean. I checked my unit and the entries in that yellow folder were not in my Recently Found so that option is out, I think. I'm just not willing to clear my Recently Found right now to see whether there is an impact on the recently spelled POI search.

By the way, if I go to my Custom POIs I do not see a yellow folder when I spell there.

NO

cool

The answer is NO... Not without a hard Reset!

Be sure to backup your files before such a move.

An Idea

That's what I thought - a hard reset which I don't want to do. I wonder though if I can hookup the unit via USB to the PC and find the folder where it's located and clear it but then again, that may lead to a brick. It's not all that important but I couldn't see why they never coded a clear button in the UI of the NUVI to clear that cache out. I did backup the entire unit when I first got it so I'm sure a restore would bring it back they way it was but it's probably not worth all the trouble.

Ok, thanks.
