Sound Alerts (Mac)

I guess I am a little block headed but, I have a POI

-XXX.XXXXXXX, YY.YYYYYYY, Alert "RR Crossing"

in a group of similar POIs. Also in my folder I have a sound byte

RR Crossing.wav

Why must I do to trigger the sound byte to play as I approach my location? Would you give me an example. using my information.

Nuvi 255 Mac OS 10.6.4

.

Did you SET an alert when you loaded the file in MANUAL mode in POI Loader?

Make sure you installed

Make sure you installed sox.exe in the correct location on the computer and have the latest poiloader.See http://www.poi-factory.com/node/25730

Charlie, I am not a Mac person but I think the .WAV support is native with POI Loader on a Mac and does not use SOX.EXE.

SOX,EXE

No, it does not do anything on a Mac. I have included it in the folder just in case.
Thanks

Still Need to Know

The POI file is named what?
(From it's format, it looks like you have a comma delimited file.)

Generally, it should be named, except for the file extension, the same as the sound file (though "strictly speaking" it's the sound file that has to be named the same as the poi file.) The association you are requesting is assembled by the Loader based on file names. Likewise for an icon if you want one. (24x24 pixels with the .bmp extension)

And then, using POI Loader in manual mode, you set the alert distance you desire, when it gets to your RR crossing file.

You are correct.I completely overlooked the Mac on the post. For some reason they don't have to install it according to other Mac posters.
