Are we tired of the Lebron James team selection yet?

There must be no other sports news - An 1 hr "The Decision" show. I am so tired of hearing about Lebron and the team he is going to play for. Upwards of $100M is crazy money not only for Lebron but for other players like Wade, Bosh, Stoudemire, etc. Even Boozer picked up $80M.

Laughable

When put into context what these athletes consider an 'acceptable' offer against the challenges our economy as a whole is going through, it just shows what we as a society value most in life. Entertainment is the most important thing to our society. If you can act, sing, achieve remarkable athletic feats, you become more valuable to us than scientists, doctors, and people that risk their lives for us.
If the NFL and NBA have a lockout next year, it will be bigger news than if the economy recovers or the ongoing environmental catastrophe in the Gulf Coast.
This is what we are.
Sad huh?

Are we tired of the Lebron James team selection yet?

None of them are worth what they get paid. If they had to take a cut it would be the best thimg that could happen. Thats goes for all people that make that kind of money. And we are glad to ship boozer to chicago they can have him. Tired of his whinning.

100M for someone that chokes in the playoffs, that's the real crazy part. And in Game 5 against Boston he just quit!

But you can bet he will take full advantage of the 1 hour telecast to make himself even more marketable.
As far as yahoo sports goes, their only guessing like the rest of us! It won't be long.
Lebron won't be king in Miami and he don't like being second fiddle.

Good luck Lebron, remember you can never can come home again. Bath Ohio Police are now guarding your home as I write this.

All three super players of Miami will need to step back and share the spotlight, good luck with that.

I'm glad this is over, I hope you don't choke again in Miami!

Open Letter to Fans from Cavaliers Majority Owner Dan Gilbert

Dear Cleveland, All Of Northeast Ohio and Cleveland Cavaliers Supporters Wherever You May Be Tonight;

As you now know, our former hero, who grew up in the very region that he deserted this evening, is no longer a Cleveland Cavalier.

This was announced with a several day, narcissistic, self-promotional build-up culminating with a national TV special of his "decision" unlike anything ever "witnessed" in the history of sports and probably the history of entertainment.

Clearly, this is bitterly disappointing to all of us.

The good news is that the ownership team and the rest of the hard-working, loyal, and driven staff over here at your hometown Cavaliers have not betrayed you nor NEVER will betray you.

There is so much more to tell you about the events of the recent past and our more than exciting future. Over the next several days and weeks, we will be communicating much of that to you.

You simply don't deserve this kind of cowardly betrayal.

You have given so much and deserve so much more.

In the meantime, I want to make one statement to you tonight:

"I PERSONALLY GUARANTEE THAT THE CLEVELAND CAVALIERS WILL WIN AN NBA CHAMPIONSHIP BEFORE THE SELF-TITLED FORMER ‘KING’ WINS ONE"

You can take it to the bank.

If you thought we were motivated before tonight to bring the hardware to Cleveland, I can tell you that this shameful display of selfishness and betrayal by one of our very own has shifted our "motivation" to previously unknown and previously never experienced levels.

Some people think they should go to heaven but NOT have to die to get there.

Sorry, but that's simply not how it works.

This shocking act of disloyalty from our home grown "chosen one" sends the exact opposite lesson of what we would want our children to learn. And "who" we would want them to grow-up to become.

But the good news is that this heartless and callous action can only serve as the antidote to the so-called "curse" on Cleveland, Ohio.

The self-declared former "King" will be taking the "curse" with him down south. And until he does "right" by Cleveland and Ohio, James (and the town where he plays) will unfortunately own this dreaded spell and bad karma.

Just watch.

Sleep well, Cleveland.

Tomorrow is a new and much brighter day....

I PROMISE you that our energy, focus, capital, knowledge and experience will be directed at one thing and one thing only:

DELIVERING YOU the championship you have long deserved and is long overdue....

These guys get way too much

These guys get way too much money for what they do but it's a free country so I guess they get what the fans will pay them.

All That Money $$$$$$$$.. !!

Yes, but the question is.. "What can you do with a Hundred Mil that you can't do with 75 Mil, 50 Mil or 25 Mil?"

There only so many cars that will fit in a garage, so much food in a refrigerator, so many watches one can wear on their wrist at a time, etc., etc.

If one were to use a little common sense in their saving and spending, $10 Mil would last a lifetime for most of us.

Show your disgust against such bloated payrolls

...by voting with your wallets. If people don't go to the games, with asinine ticket prices, and tune out the tv watching of live games, the money to fund such over paid, ego maniacal, overgrown children will dry up.

Not to be political but... it's like saying 'I'm disgusted with bank bailouts' and then returning the politicians who voted for it back to office. People have a choice, and there are ways to change the system. Won't happen over night, but come November, a large number of politicians are going to learn a painful lesson. I say, continue the lesson and pass it on to teams and players.

I agree about the money they get. I am a big NBA fan. I go to some NBA games in Orlando and have been to one game in San Antonio. My two tickets to see the Spurs cost me $350 which were ten rows back from the floor, just above the Spurs bench. Tickets on the floor cost more than I won't to pay. Jack Nicholson's season tickets on the floor cost him $30k. That's just rediculous. It looks like ticket prices are going to go up more....
I have just about decided not to go to anymore games and just stay home and watch games on HD TV. As for the Labron decision show, it was a Train Wreck.

NBA owners concerned about Heat recruitment

MIA - Jul. 11 - 2:20 pm et

NBA owners will meet on Monday and are likely to discuss concerns over the Heat's path to landing LeBron James, Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade.
It's unclear what the issues might be, but there has been plenty of chatter about player-to-player collusion and, perhaps, tampering. Chris Bosh even said that the trio had been talking for "months" before quickly correcting himself and saying "days". Jul. 11 - 2:20 pm et

In addition, Fathead.com, an online retailer owned by Cavs owner Dan Gilbert dropped the price of its LeBron Fathead wall decals from $99.99 to $17.41, which happens to be the same year Revolutionary War traitor Benedict Arnold was born.
