Includes 52 locations in the following areas:

  • United States: CA
  • some may be in: MEX (near a border)

This Garmin CSV POI file contains all 49 SDFD Stations named by Fire Station Number, plus the Fire-Rescue Dispatch Center, the regional Training Facility, and the Firehouse Museum for a total of 52 locations.

Station location addresses from the list published on the SDFD web site www.sandiego.gov/fire/about/firestations/ were used and geo-coded at www.batchgeo.com and www.gpsvisualizer.com/geocode

Each point includes additional info in the following format, using line breaks to display correctly on a Garmin Nuvi 760:

To view with lines correctly formatted on a Nuvi 765T and others like it, replace line breaks in Column 4 with the HTML tag <br>.

Within the San Diego CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) www.sandiego.gov/fire/services/cert/ there is a need to know where fire stations are located, by their station number, in case the team is activated and sent there. I discovered that fire station information is sparse to non-existent in even the most current database for my Garmin GPS. This custom POI file was developed to meet that need. I hope other responder professionals and volunteers in San Diego will also find it useful. Feedback for corrections or updates needed is welcome.
