Error in Rest Areas Combined

Hello everyone,
I'm a new Garmin user. I've had a 755t for about a month now. I'm planning a vacation trip to start in a couple of weeks. In checking my route I noticed that the Florida Welcome Center SB on I-75 was misplaced by about .5 miles NNW off the interstate in a forest. You can find it in the POI Editor by searching for MM470. It is labeled as a Rest Area instead of Welcome Center. In the editor I moved the marker back to the interstate at the entrance ramp to the Welcome Center and changed its name. All is well now. Great web site. I'm learning lots of good stuff about GPS guided travel.
If there is a better way to report an error in this file please let me know.

Another way

You can go to the RestAreas page

http://www.poi-factory.com/node/6643

then look to the top where you see it's maintained by MrKenFL. Click on the MrKenFL, then the "contact" tab, and you can send a private email with your correction straight to the maintainer for this amazing POI file.

Latest POI file seems on target

I just downloaded the file RestAreasCombined(Ver.Y).csv (last updated 5/18/2020) and looked at MM470. Using EPE, that locatiion seems to be the start of the entrance ramp off I-75. This was what I expected.

Anyone else checked this one?

It looks right

This position looks right to me, right on the entrance ramp.

Error Gone?

That's strange. I downloaded this file a couple of weeks ago. This morning the position was off, but I just re-downloaded it again and now the position is correct. In comparing the two files I noticed that the Lon. & Lat. numbers in the 2 week old file were -83.15 & 30.62. In today's file the numbers are -83.149792 & 30.615154. The difference is about 0.5 miles.
Guess there's no error after all. confused

the difference

The difference you would get in the coordinates is due to rounding. Excel defaults to 2 decimal positions.
