Hello to all and let me start off by saying "Thanks" in advance for your help and patience with my lack of knowledge about this GPS thing I bought. I purchased a new 265WT, first ever GPS, and for a single motorcycle ralley I am running end of the month. All I really need to do with it is set the route with waypoints for each leg, (3), of the rally. Hitch is I have 15 min. to do this, took me that long to turn the darn thing on. I am reading the online manual and learning alot. I am looking for some shortcuts to accomplish this task quickly. Any help is appreciated greatly.

I don't believe that GPS will let you set a route. Only the 700, 800, 1400 series will do that. Go to the Garmin website to see. You can set a destination with one intermediate via point with the others.

Turn It On Early
Turn it on early and tell it to stay on when you turn off the ignition switch. It will ask, when you shut off the external power, if you want it to stay on using the internal battery.
That way it keeps the satellites acquired for the beginning of your run.
If the waypoints are given to you ahead of time, enter them ahead of time at your convenience. Use GoTo, then Address, then Go. It will say to start driving. Press Menu (below the car icon) and then the Stop Sign... and do the second (and every additional) waypoint the same way, as well as your endpoint.
At the rally, GoTo, then Recently Found and of course Go. As you arrive at each waypoint, repeat for the next.
Of course, if you don't know the waypoints ahead of time, you have to decide if you want to do each Address one at a time as you arrive at each waypoint or all three at once and Recently Found along the way.

may not be the best model choice
In addition to not having route capability (although it should support multiple "vias"), I don't believe the 265wt is considered rugged enough for motorcycle use. Garmin did have some models that were intended for motorcycle use; although I don't know if they are still offered or if they support true routes.
Motorcycle GPS from Garmin
Garmin lists them as
Quest
Quest 2
Streetpilot 2828
Zumo 220
Zumo 450
Zumo 500
Zumo 550
Zumo 600
Zumo 660
Your manual
Your manual says you can set "via" point (see page 5)

Adding a Stop
you can add a stop (called a Via Point) to your route. The Nuvi gives you directions to the Via Point and then to your final destination.
1. with a route active, touch Menu > Where To?
2. Search for the extra stop.
3. Touch Go!
4. Touch Add As Via Point to add this stop before your destination.
I would FIRST put in the third waypoint so it will be in Recently Found as was suggested above. Then, do the above for the first two waypoints.
My 765t manual gives me the option to add other Via Point but yours did not seem to allow more than one Via.
Even though the owners
Even though the owners manual states one via point. Many of us have found it will do more then one .See http://www.poi-factory.com/node/19196

Right Idea
I've been using the 265WT for a couple of months and the way OZME52 says to do it is just the way I use mine when I'm in a hurry except I save the locations as favorites. Just enter the location you want using the menu system and save the location as favorite. Then, start with your first favorite and after you get to that one, select the next one....
Good Luck

Right
I just assumed, as he is doing a rally, he will never need those waypoints again, so no need to make them favorites.

Startup
I believe that long startup time is due to the need to acquire the sattelites. This should be much shorter the next time.
Startup time
Something to try. My Garmin 205 really stays on as long as external power is applied. Even if you turn it off with the switch. Pressing the on switch brings it up right away.
