Garmin Nuvi 500

Garmin Nuvi 500:

I have a 770 and I am thinking very seriously of buying a new 500. It is waterproof, handles hiking, biking, boating, you name it. On sale at Costco for 199.00 plus for another 100.00 you can add lifetime map upgrades and traffic.
Does anyone have one of these? If so, how do you like it?
I can't imagine not liking it but wanted to get some feedback on it. Hate to pay the additional 100 bucks for maps but it would sure keep it alive for a long time.
Thoughts?

Yes, I have one of these. Well, let me rephrase that. I had one of these, but now my wife has one of these! They are a solid reliable unit. They won't tell you what lane to be in, give you a traffic report, or even play MP3s, but as a straight up GPS, I think it is great.

Thanks, I appreciate your feedback. I love Garmins and I think I need another one. My little mount that has the power cord in it on the window doesn't charge my unit any more so I have to run it on batteries.
