BMP and Text To Speech

I downloaded a .bmp file this weekend and it worked great. I tried a coupple more and they didn't work. Where is the best place for me to go to read up on how to do this properly?

Also, I would like my custom POIs to only annunciate part of the text, not all of it. Does anybody know how to do that?

Are all the bmp's the same

Are all the bmp's the same size? Perhaps the first one is correctly formatted and the rest aren't.

what do you mean that you want only apart of the text to be aunnuciated? Mine says, "Arriving at starbucks". Not sure what you mean by apart of it.

Thank you for the reply. I

Thank you for the reply. I will check on the sizes. I know that they are not all the same, but I thought if they were under a certain size it would be okay, but maybe not. On the text to speech (TTS) issue, here is an example of a Cutom POI:

-93.18084,44.79160,Life Time Fitness 1565 Thomas Center Dr Eagan MN 55122 651-688-3000

When I select it the TTS function speaks the entire string of words:

"Life Time Fitness 1565 Thomas Center Dr Eagan MN 55122 651-688-3000", but I would like it to only speak: "Life Time Fitness", but I don't know if that is possible. I still want the address and telephone information in written text, I just don't want or need it to be spoken.

You would need to separate

You would need to separate the name "Life Time Fitness" from the rest of the address and phone number.

-93.18084,44.79160,"Life Time Fitness","1565 Thomas Center Dr Eagan MN 55122 651-688-3000"

This will create 4 "columns" of data instead of 3.

BMP and Text To Speech

Thank you so much, I will try that.

Yeah, as MM said, separate

Yeah, as MM said, separate it. The first two columns are for the coordinates. The third is for the name and the fourth is for comments.

The comments is where you want the address, phone, etc.

or...

Don't use CSV files .... use GPX instead.

Then you can put the comments in the "comment" field,
the phone number in the "phone number" field,
and the address in the "address" field.

Just a thought smile
