I have a Garmin 255w GPS unit. Have done and downloaded I believe everything right. I download the alerts and the Loader says I have updated 3,089 sites successfully. When I check the info inside the Garmin it was updated the last date/time. If I darg and paste the update to the Garmin will it work? Help in Maryland
I'm a little confused by your question

The easiest way to do this file load is to have POI Loader put the file directly on the Garmin or an SD card in the Garmin.
If you have POI Loader put the GPI file in a custom folder on your computer, then yes, you should be able to drag and drop it to the \Garmin\poi folder. You can also rename the file, but the extension must remain as GPI.

When you use poiloader and they are downloaded to your gps unit all the files are converted to one poi.gpi file .If your question is can you take individual custom poi file either csv or gpx and paste there the answer is no.
