775t bug

I was driving in NYC this weekend and my Nuvi 775t went a little crazy. It took about 20 minutes to find a satellite. Also, if I didn't follow the route it set, when recalculating, it didn't direct me from where I was located to my destination but tried to reroute me back to where the road I was originally on so I would have had to go back to the prior location. Is this unusual. Is something wrong with my unit.

Redirecting

My 750 tries to take me back to my road also, but if I go far enough she will tell me how to get their from where I am. You just have to know where you are going long enough for her to know you are not going to turn around.

When my nuvi takes too long to find satelite I turn it off and back on and hold the turn on switch till it goes blank and comes back on. This seems to reset the unit and then it will find the sats a little faster. Mine takes a long time if I turned it off in another location than where I turn it back on.

I must say, the recalculating issue was very frustrating. My old Nuvi 65o never had that problem, it would just pick up where I was and find another route. I thought the satellite issue had to do with city interference but I will try to shut it off next time and see what happens.

The key

The key is to hold the power switch in position for 15 to 20 seconds. This forces a reboot and reload just like when you first power on your computer rather than let it return from hibernation.

The problem is you need a guy telling you!!! Try Jack as he probably knows his way around better than Jill......

razz razz
But at least Jill will ask for directions if she doesn't know where she is!!

---I better think about what I just said, you will probably come back with Jack always knows where he is, or at least that's what my husband would say.
