Mapsource - problem importing itinery to Garmin 755T

I found mapsource useful and especially faster to design personal itinary. When I upload waypoint and itinary to my garmin unit (755T), I don't understand why but the mapsource software says everything is transfered fine but when I unplug my unit and open it, only the new waypoint are beeing upload. The intinary are never on the itinary menu of the unit.

Do you have similar issues?

I found that i can redo the itinary using the waypoint uploaded but this process is not the way it seems supposed to work.

route import

If you are asking about transferring routes, after you have done the transfer from Mapsource, go to Tools - My Data - Import Route from file. If you are asking about track logs, they can't be transferred from Mapsource to nuvi.

thanks

thanks for the advice. I'll try. Weird to me that waypoint are beeing transferred automaically and not routes.

Why it works that way

Along with your favorites, the routes ARE automatically tranferred to the GPS as the temp.gpx file where they must then be imported "import from a file" (one of your My Data folder options).

I strongly suspect that it works that way because you can only have 10 (or 12) routes active in your GPS at any time but you can have many routes saved in the temp.gpx file from mapsource for use at a later time.

From the GPS point of view, the temp.gps file is a read only file so routes will ever be deleted from that file. When you delete any (or all) routes from the GPS you are only deleting the active ones you have previously imported. This simply makes more room for either importing different routes or creating a new route using the GPS create NEW and EDIT route features.

The documentation does not explain it very well.
