You can walk a horse to water, but a pencil has to be led.

7x5 media player.

Do the files show up on the Media Player Browse list? If not, it usually indicates a file naming problem. If they show up on the browse list but just won't play, it is usually a file format problem such as an invalid bit rate.

Where are you putting the music?

On my SD card I have all the mp3's in a rooted dir named "music" (I also use sub folders sub-folders)
SD:\music\*.mp3

The nuvi seems to save and look for playlists in
SD:\mp3\playlists\*.M3u8

I'm not sure how picky the nuvi is about where music and playlists can be located but this works for me on both 750 and 760.

Same as my model. I also have a C550 and that behaves a little differently.

I put my MP3's on an SD card in a directory called SD:\MP3. I also create a playlist using the command "dir/b *.mp3 | sort > Music.m3u" at the command prompt while in the directory on the SD card containing the MP3's. Then I put the SD card into the GPS, turn on the GPS, go into Media Player and import the playlist. This is probably more complicated than it needs to be but it works for both the 765T and C550.
