If you have lifetime maps for either of your GPSes (or plan to buy a OneTime or Lifetime subscription), your next map update will install Mapsource along with the new map. Or if you saved a copy of the 2GB installation file of a previous map update, just run it.

Another way:

.

when does the new mapsource beta come out of beta??

Everyday is a GREAT day :)

Have Mapsource Working

I mapsource working on my computer now. Now I'm trying to get Navteq in mapsource to have better mapping instead of the base map. This has me beating my head against the wall.

Well, that's a start. Options for many free Garmin/Mapsource-compatible maps can be found here:

http://www.gpsfiledepot.com/

but if you want City Navigator like both of your nuvis have, you'll need to reinstall an earlier map update from Garmin (if you have ever received and have saved such a file) or will have to buy a OneTime or lifetime numaps subscription--which will update one nuvi to the latest City Navigator and install it on your computer to be used by Mapsource. If you're going to buy an update, Amazon.com has pretty good prices with free S&H. Do you know what City Navigator versions you have on your nuvis? (Touch Tools/Settings/Map/Map Info for the version.) Good luck again.

PS--since you're in Mesa, I can confirm that the free Arizona topo map is great and works well with either of your nuvis and in Mapsource:

It does show streets but will not support route creation, etc. as City Navigator does, though.

Or...

If you use Basecamp, it will allow you to use the map on the GPSr. It takes a while to load.

If you ain't got pictures, I wasn't there.

Latest version

After you have installed the version from Basecamp, remember to update to the latest and greatest. At this date it'll be 6.16.1

Oh - update can be checked from the Help menu, of course
