Garmin 250W (in Arizona)

We have had our Garmin for about 9 months now and for the most part it does pretty well. However we are in Arizona and it is terrible here. Can't find things, gives directions to the wrong place, or bad directions. HELP please. I tried to find the post office in Camp Verde the other day and it said the nearest one was in Cottonwood just as we were driving by the Post Office in Camp Verde!!!

If you are using the built-in POI there is nothing we can do. Our only suggestion is a map update and the use of custom POI files from the POI Factory. At least we can correct these.

What map version do you have?
Touch Tools/Settings/Map/Map Info to find yours.
With the new 2011.10 map, a post office is shown on Lookout Pt Rd in Rimrock.
If there's another PO in Camp Verde, when you're there, just save it to your Favorites.
I live just up The Hill and find the maps and POIs quite good here and throughout AZ. I'm sorry to hear of your results.

A good price right now for lifetime numaps to update your 205W is from Amazon for $85

This will give you up to four new map/POI updates per year for your nuvi for the life of the nuvi. It's also possible to buy a One-Time map update, but at a cost of over $50, the lifetime update is a much better value. The updates are done via the internet and you will need a broadband connection and computer. Even then, it may take over two hours to download and install for each update you do.
Note that although the new 2011.10 map does show a post office nearer to Camp Verde AZ than the one in Cottonwood, it still does not show the Camp Verde PO on Finnie Flat Road.
I don't know if you're in AZ now, but up here in Flag, it's snowing--and it's almost MAY!
Another example
I have a 2009 map on my 260W. This map has the Camp Verde Post Office shown at 403 W. Finnie Flats Rd. My daughter's 1490T has 2010 maps and a lot fewer POIs than my 260W. This seems to be a trend for Garmin, more features and less map detail.
