2011.10 and 7x5 Series

Just updated my 765T to 2011.10. Update process went smoothly but after disconnecting and restarting the unit, it gave me an error - "Cannot unlock Maps".

Called Garmin, and their tech support says they are aware of the issue with the new map (2011.10) and 7x5 and some zumo units. For some reason the 3D maps (or buildings) doesn't get unlocked and they will have a fix available soon.

Anyone else on the same boat?

Problems using Firefox

Has anyone had a problem using Firefox to download the maps? After I downloaded the maps to my computer, they would not upload to my gps. After thinking about it for a while, I remembered the last update required me to reboot my computer after the download completed. Then everything went smoothly. Next time I will us IE and see if the same thing happens.

I used Firefox without any problems. Originally, I thought it was not working as DL Manager was not showing any progress. I tried restarting a couple of times and was told there was an existing file and it would be removed. Finally, I watched the actual file itself and it was growing in size very rapidly. Only after it reached the full 2.3GB in size did DL Manager start showing progress. My guess is it was pre-allocating space.

As for not being able to load, I did not have the update kick off immediately. Downloaded Friday evening and updated Saturday morning.

I Too

Was unable to get the update to start automatically after the download finished. I had to manually start the map install.

Lifetime maps

I don't have the lifetime maps. I might call Garmin and see if they will do anything.
Why are you returning your 765t?

Garmin 765T and Map 2011.10

I returned my Garmin 765T to Garmin for and exchange today.The fix did not work for me after downloading 2011.10.
