Map update nüMaps Onetime City Navigator North America NT 2010 nüvi 205

I just bought a Garmin Nuvi 205 and ordered a map update (nüMaps Onetime City Navigator North America NT 2010). The email states the disk will not be here for 4-6 weeks. I was thinking that since the Nuvi 205 maps are already 2010.1 that I might just put the update onto my Garmin StreetPilot 2730, which has older maps. Does anybody happen to know if the update disk is somehow tied to the Nuvi or can I use the disk to update my older StreetPilot 2730 maps?

Map update
If you just purchased a new or refurb 205, you should be eligible for a free map update via download (nuMaps guarantee), and it wouldn't be necessary to purchase the nuMaps Onetime disc. The free download would need to be installed on your 205.

Map Update
I am hoping that by getting a disc I will be able to put maps on my personal computer and have the ability to use MapSource for trip planning and managing my Favorites.
Unless I am mistaken
Whenever I've upgraded my unit maps, Mapsource is upgraded at the same time.
My Mapsource has all the map versions on it, even the older ones that were upgraded.
So I think if you upgrade your Nuvi (or StreetPilot), your Mapsource will be upgraded too.
It updates MapSource
Each time I get an updated map, it updates MapSource to the latest maps also. The new maps replace the old on the nüvi, but MapSource will display the latest, but there is a pulldown that allows you to use a previous set should you feel the need.

Garmin nuMaps Onetime
My Garmin nuMaps Onetime DVD finally arrived in the mail today. I want to get MapSource on a different computer than what I originally had it on. Should I connect the Garmin StreetPilot 2730 to the computer and start with the original City NAvigator to get in one the computer and then install the Garmin nuMaps Onetime? Also, the envelope that contains the DVD has a white box stating "Place Product Key here", but there is no product key there. Is that now contained somewhere else, or did I get an incomplete order?
