Best GPS, which I have owned. For a motorcycle was a Lorance Iway 500c I bought I t august of 2005 finely died the other day RIP. It had over 50,000 miles three trips up the blue Ridge Parkway several trips to my favorite back roads of Ga.But one on going problem that I had with it is the screen would freeze and lock up the first time it did it and of course the warranty had just ran out so foolish me I sent it back to Lowarnce they fixed it for $150.00 an sent it back Then I found on another forum http://www.gpspassion.com/forumsen/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=133751 that all I had to do was clean the dirt and grime between the bezel an screen ,so I would do this a couple times a year or if I had been riding in a lot of rain that worked for a while. But the other day I broke one of the pins on the circuit board off. So now it is time for some thing different. I know the answer would be to buy a new Zuma or Tomtom Rider but I can not afford 500 to $700 at this time. So I went to Ram mounts web site looking for a way to mount my Nuvi 1300 to my bike and found this thing called a “Aqua Box” http://www.ram-mount.com/CatalogResults/PartDetails/tabid/63...
any body tried one out yet?

Aqua Box seem to fix the above, just worried about the shock from a motorcycle handlebars.

Aqua Box
I went through the same thing as you. Agonized over the Zumo, but just don't have that kind of cash to spend.
I bought the AQUA BOX and use it with my Nuvi 765t and I LOVE it. The construction of the box is top notch. I mounted nicely on my handlebars, it is easy to use the Garmin, and it offers great protection.
Now, I worry about the vibration of these cager-style GPS's but for the life of me I cannot figure out why it should be a problem. These devices are solid state. So far so good. I HIGHLY recommend anything from RAM products. I have been using then for 5 years and they are great.
By the way...I am Thomas B too!
Aqua-Box
I purchased an Aqua Box from Ram 1 1/2 years ago to use in the military Humvee's (they leak like crazy). I put my Nuvi 260 in it and suctioned it to the windshield. It worked like a champ. Kept the 260 dry and protected it from the shock and vibration of the Humvee.
