Deleting Custom POI's

I have a Garmin Nuvi 750 that I have transfered my Custom POI's to from my SD card. NOW, how can I delete them from the Nuvi 750. I believe it has slowed down the 750. I wish to operate my POI's just fromt he SD card, like I used to do.

first..

you will acutally have to go into your garmin POI folder and delete the subfolder ext. file in it.

Use POI loader to remove

Use POI loader to remove your custom POIs. Run POI loader and select remove pois. This is the safest way to remove them.

Definitely use POI Loader

Definitely use POI Loader and select remove. If you've got them on your SD and you don't want to delete them from there, maybe you should have the SD card out when you are removing from the unit using POI Loader.

You may need to remove the files on the unit

My 770 works as follows: The POIs loaded by the POI Loader end up in a single file called poi.gpi in the \Garmin\Poi folder on the GPS. These can be updated/deleted using the POI Loader.

However, I had some .gpi files on the sd card and I once let the GPS copy them to the unit. These ended up as files with the same names and .gpi as the original but located in that same \Garmin\Poi folder on the unit. Removing them from the SD card was not enough, I had to actually delete the files in the \Garmin\Poi folder on the unit itself to get rid of them.

Suggestion: Make a copy on your computer before you delete any file (just in case).
