The manual at http://rightwaygps.com/store/Manuals/rw-400-manual.pdf doesn't say Custom POI can be loaded or used on this unit.

You would have to get them from the manufacturer and they do not appear to have any available currently.

Rightway Updates

I had an issue with my Rightway (RW400) unit, it had a lock on the display. It was still under warranty, and the fix was to replace the unit. I inquired to the tech working on the unit if there was a way to download POI files. He said it was not possible, any POI would have to be manually entered into favorites. I have not found anywhere on the internet where anyone has been able to load software POI files into the RW400. I suspect it can be done, but a person who knows apparently has not stepped forward.

Loading POI To A Rightway

flipper,

I just bought a Rightway 210 from Woot on the basis of the ability to update maps and POIs.

You need to go to the Rightway site (http://www.noeticinc.com/RW/mapsure.html) and download a copy of CoPilot Central (it's free). The site claims it only works with specific models, but, customer support told me it should support the older models. You might want to e-mail them to confirm this for your model.

You will need to connect your GPS to your computer via USB then launch the program. You should be able to browse the contents of your GPS- maps, POIs, favorites. The interface should also let you mode POI files onto the GPS.

None of this is in the user guide that came with my GPS. I pieced it together from info on the site.

I would suggest making a backup before your go much further. Hope this advice works for your device.

Good luck!

UPDATE-

I tried loaded a POI file from this site using the CoPilot Central software. It imported the CSV file, but, when I restarted the GPS it had an error.

Next, I loaded the same POI file in OV2 format. The CoPilot Central loaded the file. There is even a place to specify an icon file. When I restarted the GPS it loaded the POIs without error. Works great.

Hope this works for you.
