Note: I am very new at installing POI's.
Just this week I downloaded several POI's. Most worked well, but I have a problem with a few of them.
1. Loaded the California Kaiser medical facilities. However, none of my local facilites show up when I look for them in the Custom POI's.
2. A couple of Pharmacies show up just fine, Rite Aid and Walgreens. (Their icon shows up when approching one) CVS Pharmacy does not.
3. Today I passed a McDonalds and a Lowes Hardware. The Icons did not show up, however a tiny circle, just a bit larger than a decimal point did show up.
I simply don't understand the irregularities. Any idea's?
1.If you loaded them
1.If you loaded them correctly and it sounds like you did.The locations you may not have been included in the file. You may want to contact the author of the file and get them added.
2.The icons should show up when getting to the arrival point. To see them other wise you have to zoom in close. If you added the bmp to the file and named them the same except for the extensions.Double check the name part. One period out of place or the spelling not the same compared to the csv or gpx file and it will not work. Also check for double extensions. To check if correct touch any one of the custom pois and then touch map at bottom of screen and you should see the bmp(icon) you downloaded.
3.Covered in 2.See http://www.poi-factory.com/node/25721 for outline for custom pois.

also....
You can try opening the .csv file within excel and see if the POIs are there to begin with. If you don't see them listed with excel, you won't see them on the GPS
Difficulty with loading POI's
Thanks to both for your assistance. I printed your responses and will read and compare them to the issue and see if I can find my problem.

Dot
The small dot is the default indicator of a POI. That is what shows when you don't have a picture loaded. Check the BMP name, also try loading it in a graphic program like Print Shop to make sure it isn't corrupted.
