Can You Load Routes from Mapsource with City Navigator Maps to 765T

I have a friend that just purchased a 765T, he does not have a computer or use one for that matter.
We have updated his unit to the most recent maps & firmware & all is functioning correctly.

But I would like to give him routes that we intend to travel & using PIO loader seems rather strange loading GPX files, that turn into POI's under 'Custom POI's'

I have an old 2610 that only uses City Navigator & I'm wondering if you can hook his 765T to my computer & load routes into it so they show up under Routes in 'My Data'?

Also would I have to register it with the software to use on my computer?
