Would You Recommend a Garmin 1390T?

I was thinking about getting a Garmin 1390T. Does anyone have any comments or recommendations for other units? The 1390T seems to have good ratings.

You may

You may want to look at the 1490T as well. Although it has a bigger screen than the 1390T, the big difference for me would be the 1490s ability to create and store multi destination routes. IMHO, that alone is worth the extra cost.

You can compare these 2 units at https://buy.garmin.com/shop/compare.do?cID=134&compareProduc...

Not so much

Tried a 1390 and 1490T. Both had software issues that caused them to freeze, requiring a reset. The only feature that was a nice addition from older versions is the one identifying which change to be in. However, it was often wrong and identifying the lanes too late to be of much use.

THe 1490 has a great screen and the volume on both these units is a huge improvement over earlier models.

Overall, a decent GPS but hopefully, they will come up with a better one.

Nuvi 765T is a better model.

Yes, I would

I just got mine over the weekend. I think it's a great unit. Some concerns I have is the bluetooth seems to be too soft, people tell me my voice starts in the middle of the sentence, it cuts off. This unit is about 18" from me. I love the traffic feature, it works great and seems accurate. I also like the posted speed limits. not updated for my neighborhood but good feature. Hope this helps you out.

1390T eeehhh its ok

I am still not really happy with my 1390T yet. It does not allow you to turn Icons on in the driving maps like some other units (like my old GPS that finaly quit on me). I can see Icon of places when I browse a map. Maybe I should have opted for the better 3D mapping model gps.

The Accuracy is a lot to be desired, It does not identify my home location properly, I have a TOM TOM and another cheapy GPS both can show my home address corectly. I have also had it off when finding places, it finds the main street but DOES NOT SEE parking lots worth a darn, Map accuracy seems to be off also, even with 2010.40 version (Latest version available) It Shows a Lake in the middle of the Publixs(food store) parking lot (like a 1950's version of the Map, the lake dried up 30 years ago) Publix has been there for over 15 years, whens the map going to show that?????

A Really cool feature is the Smart lane assist, It kicked on for the first time the other day on an interstate with confusing signs on which lane I had to be in (6 lanes, 2 going this way, 2 going that way, and 2 more going I don't know where) The Lane assist showed little Signs that looked like the real signs and then showed which lane to be in under which sign, in a nice cute little 4 inch picture of the interstate, No mistake there. That makes the unit worth it.

The Free traffic part is just OK.

Just a thought.

How well does the bluetooth

How well does the bluetooth work for you? Mine is still not that very good. Also your right about the map. not that good. My old C330 works a lot better.

Question on the 265WT

Does the 265 have the 3d building mapping?

Garmin 3597 LMTHD

.

The only nuvi units that have the 3D Buildings feature is the 7x5 series.
