Garmin 755t Accuracy

I'm not sure if I have a problem or not....

My new 755 seems to be less accurate than it should be. I have spoken with Garmin and done a hard boot but still have some issues.

If I type in my address for Home... the GPS shows that my address is about 2 blocks away from its actual location. This happens even if I input the coordinates.

The other issue...when I am at an intersection which is a scheduled turn...the unit will show that I am still anywhere from 100 to 300 ft away.

Has anyone else experienced anything like this?? How did you remedy it??

Thanks for your input.

I have a 755T and mine don't

Specific house numbers are extrapolated from a range of numbers on a street segment, so this can happen, although 2 blocks off seems unusual. It could be a mapping error in the location you are testing. I would suggest going to a different area in Google maps. Zoom way in and right click on a location on some street. Select "What's here". This will give you the coordinates in decimal format. Go to your nuvi, make sure the coordinate format is set to degree decimal and enter the coordinates you got in Google (note that longitude/latitude are in reverse order on Google than they are on Garmin). View this location on the nuvi map zoomed all the way in so you can see how closely it matches Google. If it is 2 blocks off, you definitely have a problem.

This is definitely not normal. My son and I both have a 755T's and the current position is pretty accurate on both units ... usually within 20 to 30 feet. So it sounds to me like you may have a defective unit

When you talked to Garmin did they offer to give you an RMA so you could exchange the unit? Or can you take it back where you purchased it?

Thanks for your input.

As an example, my daughters address comes up several blocks from where it really is. The fault is not the Nuvi, but rather that the developer set the numbers wrong. He apparently did the whole subdivision wrong and all mapping is messed up.
