I have a Garmin 855. It did not come with Traffic Alert.
Can I add the Traffic Alert? What do I have to do to make that happen.

GTM 20

You need a GTM 20 traffic receiver and a Navteq or Clear Channel subscription. Garmin part number for GTM 20 with lifetime Navteq is 010-00544-13.

You need to buy a compatible FM traffic receiver

You need to buy a compatible FM traffic receiver for either a Clear Channel or Navteq traffic subscription or even both like mine has that I use with my 885T.

Does it come with GTM™ 20 with lifetime traffic cable? If not, you need ONE to get Traffic alerts.

Most folks seem to prefer ClearChannel

Most folks here seem to prefer ClearChannel. Check Garmin's site for coverage areas of the two FM Traffic vendors--ClearChannel covers a bit more of the US and Canada than does the competition.
