255WT Cancel a via point without cancelling the route/destination?

Anyone know how to cancel a via point on a 255W/T without cancelling the destination? I entered a destination, then another, to create a via point. I arrived at the via point location, but it didn't want to recognize that I was there. Once I moved on towards the final destination, the unit kept trying to reroute me back to the via point.

I'd like to be able to cancel the via point without having to stop the route.

No one has found a way to

No one has found a way to cancel a via point.If you keep driving to the end location the message will go off.The work around I found was to just stop the route and go back to recently found and hit go for the end location..

cancel a via point

i have a 255w. i do not know of a cancel procedure that you would like to do. i think the best to do is go to recent poi and select your final stop as the destination.

No need to cancel route

You can cancel all via points by simply re-selecting your final destination.

Stacking via points

Actually, you can stack via points on a 255 even though the specs suggest only one is allowed. The trick is that they have to be invoked from the destination toward the point you are currently at - that is to say the nearest via point is entered last. I have not found a way to cancel one but I have not run into that problem. For me, even when I pass a via point with out actually getting there, if I get back on the main route after a few tries at getting me to back, it begins to route me forward.

I do the opposite and it has always worked perfectly for me. Perhaps the software the unit is using has something to do with it ?

I've used 4 vias in the past + my destination without a problem.

Has anyone else tried more rolleyes
