First Traffic Alert...... Confirmation that it works!

During of the 3 month 'Demo' of traffic... I never saw a thing... And I live in Chicagoland....

When I approached Garmin for more information and maybe a 2nd demo.... NO WAY!!!
When I purchased Lifetime traffic last week... I did so with a bit of concern....

Today, right above the lower right where I'm used to seeing milage to next turn...... A Yellow Yield sign pops up, and :01 inside it.. ?????

Not knowing what it meant, after it sat there for a few minutes.... and not changing..... I touched it...
and a new never seen menu came up indicating a delay ahead, a one minute delay.... Options: Go back or route around it.

OK it works!!!

Gee... Traffic sure could use a separate picture and text operations manual!

I guess I'll learn more here from your comments...

and screen information, as they pop up!!!

A 2689LMT in both our cars that we love... and a Nuvi 660 with Lifetime Maps that we have had literally forever.... And a 2011 Ford Escape with Nav System that is totally ignored!

.

The traffic information in the manuals evolved slowly over time.

The 660 manual explained on p.33 that the yellow diamond icon lets you know when there is an incident on your route:

The 680 manual explained about the number in the icon on p. 27:

and finally with the 760 the complete picture appears on p.33:

Having owned a 680 and then a 760, I puzzled through the mystery of the traffic service and meaning of the symbols just like you and other members. I believe there was a traffic supplement for the 680 manual at an earlier time, but I can't seem to locate it now. Thanks to other POI Factory members, it became clear over time smile
