This cable enables your nuvi to talk directly with your vehicle via the vehicles Onboard Diagnostic System (ODB)
Simply connect your bluetooth enabled nuvi to the vehicles ODB system via a plug in (normally located by or on your steering column) and your nuvi will then display your vehicle's real-time diagnostics such as temperature, emissions, trouble codes, fuel flow, coolant temps, oil pressure, engine status, drive train condition.
