Contributors Of The Year 2009

It’s really hard to pick just one (or even just a few) to receive our contributor of the year award. We have so many people doing great things on the site for our community. This year, I have selected three people who really stand out for their contributions in 2009.

This year’s Contributor of the year awards go to:
Mahoney, Turboccc, and A_user.

Mahoney, you are currently the project manager for 153 POI Files. Wow!! That just blows my mind that one person is keeping up with that much work. You are amazing and always so helpful when working with other members.

Turboccc, you are a programming machine!!! You have created some very cool software for working with POI files and tweaking Garmin GPS features. You have provided us with tools that totally change the way we use our systems. Among other things, we can now have our GPS say whatever we want instead of just hearing the default sayings.

A_User, your avatar is perfect for you, you are the forum whiz kid. You are always there to lend a hand to someone who is stuck. You are the manager for quite a lot of high profile projects and you are always willing to take on more if I need a hand.

The three of you are very important leaders in our community, thank you again for all that you do to make POI Factory run smoothly.
I would not love my job as much if it were not for outstanding individuals like you.

Make sure to check out my other post (facts and figures for 2009) to see what some of our other top users have been doing.

Sincerely,

MaryAnn Melby (AKA Miss POI)

Kenwood KNA-G510 (actually a Garmin)

WOW!

I echo Mahoney's statement. It is a great honor to receive this recognition for doing something that is so much fun.

One of my goals has been to get others to step up and become more involved with this site and the great group of members here. I have managed to turn several files over to others to maintain, not because I needed to, but because they showed the interest and needed just a smidgin of coaching.

What can I say about the others - Turbo, your award is extremely well deserved. Your programs have made life here so much easier and helped many of us begin to understand and use the power of GPX files.

Bill Mahoney is a joy to work with. He is always quick to respond to changes in the many files he maintains and quickly gives credit where credit is due.

Of course, no acceptance speech would be complete without mentioning "Mom." Maryann, better known as Miss POI or the Borg Queen is the real hero in all this. She is the glue that keeps us all together. Maryann, I thank you and Jon for crating the site and the many hours of work you put into it. Without your effort there wouldn't be this community. Thank you.

Congrats

Congratulations to all three of you guys. Turboccc, you are constantly talking over my head, but I learn so much from you. Mahoney, great to work with. Whenever I send him a change for a POI, it's always done quickly and efficently. And, A_User, knows everything, (it seems), about GPS's and not only that, it's always interesting to read his comments. (Underline interesting.) Again, kudos to all.

Congratulations

To Mahoney, Turboccc, and A_user for Contributor of the year award, it's well deserved.

I would also personally like to thank every other POI Factory member for their continuous dedication and contributions. So many members day in and day out taking the time in helping out a fellow member whom they never met nor hardly know. It's unreal the amount of knowledge there is here. Keep up the good work, that's what I call teamwork.

To have become this successful, we absolutely must acknowledge our leaders skills and competences. Without them, we centainly wouldn't be were we are today. MaryAnn & Jon from all of us, a sincere thank you for all your hard work and NUMEROUS hours.

A proud member

BRAVO ZULU

Congrats on your award and a heartfelt thank you for all that you have done for us.

Thanks!

Thanks Miss POI for this COY award. It is very much appreciated. It has been a busy year for me, but I have been supported in my efforts by many members. I would like to thank you all, but there are too many of you.

Mahoney, you are currently the project manager for 153 POI Files. Wow!! That's incredible. I have not done any POI file so far, but I have a very good understanding of the work involved. Good job!

A_User, I've seen you name often this year in my threads and in many others. You effectively do a great job. You posted over 1600 posts? Wow! That's a couple per day! You certainly helped me a low and made good suggestions for my programs. Thanks for that.

I'd like to thank also charlesd45 for his help in answering EPE's questions in other threads. If you continue to support EPE like that, I'll have to pay you.. LOL!

Again, thank you all and continue the good work. This site is really great and I like spending time here a lot.

Turbo

Great Job you young fellas are doin'

It's very helpful to have people like you on this site to help with all kinds of questions. Lets face it, without contributors, this site wouldn't exist.

Thank you ..

Thank you for all you contributions. I can only tell you the stories when I've been several hundred miles away from home and I used an infamous amount of POI's to make the trip easier. From Vermont to West Virginia to Minnesota. Your work has been appreciated and used.
