So the ball socket on the back of my c530 wasn't holding real well, so I wrote to Garmin inquiring into a replacement part. They responded that it would cost $99 to repair. When I pushed back, another service rep offered to fix it under warranty (unit is two years old). So I wrapped it up and sent it off. I got a replacement pretty quickly and it was in perfect shape. I plugged it in and signed onto the Garmin website to finish the transfer of devices, which was supposed to include data transfer. No such luck. All my old data is gone. That was the first issue. Today I use it for the first time to guide me around. I notice the voice is louder and harsher... Almost as bad as the sound quality on a nuvi. My old c530 had a very warm, smooth sound to it, never harsh or distorted like this one. I know it shouldn't, but it's really bugging me. Any advice or insight?
